Arriving in Swakopmund, enjoy free time to explore this charming coastal town. In the evening, your guide can arrange a group dinner at a top local seafood restaurant (optional, at your own expense). Today we visit Walvis Bay Lagoon, a birdwatcher’s paradise known for its large flocks of flamingoes and occasional dolphin sightings, followed by a stop at the impressive salt works. Today we travel inland from the coast, with a final stop in Walvis Bay to bid farewell to the flamingoes. The journey takes us through the dramatic Gaub and Kuiseb passes, showcasing Namibia’s moon-like desert landscapes. Arriving at our desert camp in the late afternoon, we head out for a sunset dune excursion—a stunning end to the day as the colors shift over the sand dunes and surrounding mountains. Dinner is enjoyed under the stars around the campfire.
